CLub Brown Send Off

Club Brown South Send-Off

What a wonderful send-off for Bobby and Patti to Club Brown South. Sorry, that's the closest we could get them together that night (after all, they will be in close quarters for the whole ride to Florida!).

Soon, we will pass the torch for Club Management to the next generation,
or should we..............????????? Oops! Where's Jessica? Hopefully she's the piece of the puzzle that will bring it all together.

The current Club Management is having some thoughts about passing down the torch to the next generation (especially when the kids asked what our limit was on our charge cards!!).

Hey!! I recognize that kid, AGAIN!!!!! Who's watching the door???? Where's our security detail? Oh, wait!  Management just realized that we don't have a security officer.  That will have to be remedied at the next board meeting.  Someone make a note of that.

Although our Club Health & Safety/Fire Suppression person may not look like he's on the ball (it's all part of his undercover work), he did find a safety concern below.

But Uncle Bobby says it will be OK until he returns in the spring!

Club Brown Brunch

Club Brown offered a function that was for early birds. The Club Brunch began at 10:00 in the morning - although we all know that it was 5 o'clock somewhere. As guests arrived, the player piano played some classical music to welcome those who entered through the front entryway. Many treats awaited those who were able to get out of bed early. Delectable delicacies included: scrambled eggs (72 of them), biscuits and gravy (80), bacon (5 pounds), sausage (3 pounds), sweet rolls, Julie's famous cinnamon rolls, fruit, bagels, desserts, and of course, Tony was there to assist those who were parched! The Tiki Bar was alive with Bloody Marys, Mimosas, screwdrivers, and whatever anyone desired. Sheila's fresh flowers added to the ambiance of the Sunday affair.

Some people found the early start time a bit difficult. Uncle Tommy was one of those. He did make it, though, wearing his favorite Sunday pajamas. Luckily for the rest of the attendees, he left his Teddy Bear at home.

Due to the ever growing Club Brown memberships, new members have to be taught the official Tiki Bar stance (aka "lean") to prepare for the after effects of the Club libations. Club Member Ritch is demonstrating the lean in this picture.

Sometimes there weren't enough hands to fully appreciate all the Club had to offer. (Pay no attention to the chap in the red hat pouring himself a drink at the bar.) Surely, the Club Brown bartenders check IDs. He told us he was 21. What color bracelet were we supposed to be wearing that day?

Not only were the food and drinks in abundance, but good conversation was overheard, also. As a matter of fact, if any of you need to "pimp your ride," from what management overheard, these two could get it done!!

The Club was also able to add to their membership roster at the brunch. Here's Marge discussing the Club benefits with our newest member, Elena.

Although the brunch went well into the evening...some did not make it to the afternoon. Again, isn't anybody checking IDs?????

CLub Brown Assists CLub Members

The benefits of belonging to CLub Brown are numerous - as we are all aware.  Cool beverages, refreshing pool, and tasty treats are offered at all CLub functions.  But, did you know that CLub Brown board members are available on call to handle any emergency situations that might arise?  Not only are they available on a consulting basis, but they are ready to make house calls as needed.  Founding members illustrate this important perk as they assist another member whose husband left a totally inadequate lawn maintenance machine for her to operate in his absence.  The recomendation from the CLub consultants was not to repair the piece of junk that was left for the wife to use, but to employ an expensive lawn service as soon as possible.

Pampered Chef Soiree

Our friendly Pampered Chef consultant,Christine Fleury, made a special guest appearance at Club Brown.  Several states and two continents sent representatives to learn the latest in cooking techniques.  Foods served included chicken nachos, barbeque pork sandwiches, artichoke orzo salad, and many other delectable treats.  The Tiki Bar was in full swing with Tony L., Director of Cabana Services, making sure everyone had cool beverages.

Wacky Weenie Night

Due to membership demands for increased CLub activities, Wacky Weenie Night was introduced.  CEO Dave procured a variety of weenies to grill out.  There were big ones, little ones, spicy and mild, ethnic and traditional, and all were Juicy, Tasty, and Hot!!  Weenies were prepared by Chefs Dave and Rick, and everyone enjoyed sampling the varieties.

Tiki Bar Grand Opening

On Sunday, July 4th, the Club Brown Tiki Bar was officially opened.  Approximately 100-120 people were on hand to participate in this grand celebration.  All seemed to enjoy the expansion of the yard (more space), but the big attraction was christening of the Tiki Bar.  The official Club drink was named (winner of the contest was Linnae Hansen) - Tiki Splash!!  And what a splash it was!!  Again, thanks to Kevin, Matt, and Rick Sassmannshausen for providing Club Brown with a landmark that will certainly go down in the history books!

CLub Brown ITunes tip

At last nights CLub Brown 'soft' Tiki Bar opening we experienced an anomaly where Jimmy Buffett suddenly took over the event. This was caused by the source (Dave's ipod) levels of saved materials being inconsistent. After Jimmy was brought back under control several CLub members expressed that they have had similar experiences. Here is a simple fix that I will share with you, even though I normally get paid huge amounts to correct such issues. Just another benefit to being a CLub Brown member!

CLub Brown Tiki Preparations

In preparation for the arrival of the CLub Brown Tiki Bar, many improvements are needed at CLub Brown. Brothers Bob Brown and Richie Jeralds are doing their part to get the Club up to par.  Nephew Brandon and neighbor Mike Lucia added the much needed muscle to dig those post holes.  Brother Bob is in charge of technical support as our Managemnet Informations System go to person.  Neighbor and charter member, Sheila Lucia, is our social director and provides much needed meals on wheels for our workers!!

6-05-10 Tiki Time Update

The cabinets are fitted with magnetic doors so that the doors do not pose any problems for the Club Brown bartenders.

Kevin and Matt discussing possible placements for the imported marine roping.

Team TikiKev practicing "bellying up to the bar."

How many Club Brown bartenders does it take...............

Is this:

A. A modern day pyramid built by local

builders?

B. A new roof for the Dave Brown

household?

C. A roof built by Team TikiKev for the

new CLub Brown Tiki Bar?

The answer is "C!". Holy smoke!! Can you believe the size of

that??!! Rumor has it that the bar will stand about 15 feet tall!!

Look for it to be named as one of the tallest Tiki bars in the entire Midwest!! Way to go Team TikiKev!!!!

Stay tuned for the "finishing touches" photos in the near future!!

Check out the exquisite cabinetry!

Here's Team TikiKev pointing out the advanced electrical set-up for the CLub Brown Tiki Bar!
